On Tuesday, October 3, we traveled over
to Savannah, Georgia. Our main goal was to visit Paula
Deen's restaurant, The
Lady and Sons. Paula has
several shows on The Food Channel and is known worldwide
for her "southern cookin." There are are always
lines, and in order to be seated for lunch around noon,
we had to check in at 9:30 a.m. The restaurant is located
in a two hundred year old building and seats over three
hundred patrons.
After checking in, we walked down to the river front to
look around as we waited for lunch. When we finally got
in to the restaurant, we all chose the buffet which was
filled with many tasty southern dishes.
After our lunch we took
an escorted tour of historic Savannah and learned about
the many squares and beautiful architecture that the
city is famous for.
